It's not difficult to imagine what the effects of wrinkle cream is. They are supposed to remove wrinkles. But do they really do this? Have there ever been comparative tests ran on this subject? Some of these ingredients have been proven to work, other are dodgy at best, and even then, not all products contain the same amount and combination of ingredients. A trained professional might be able to inform you best as to the effects of wrinkle cream, or other anti aging skin care products in general, on your skin type. It depends on which type of skin you have, your age, previous products you might have used. Below is a list of several active ingredients that are commonly used in wrinkle creams: Most commonly used ingredient which is basically a vitamin A compound. Care should be taken not to use if pregnant or might become pregnant due to its risks of increasing chance of birth defects. Acid based exfoliants that are used to remove the dead top layer of skin to let new smooth skin to grow. Due to lack of protection of top layer of skin, a sunscreen must be used if you'll be outdoors for extended periods. This ingredient regulates energy production in skin cells to help with skin self-repair. Although no side effects have been recorded, it is known to be less potent than other anti aging products. These protein fragments are used to repair damaged skin caused by wounds or natural wear and tear. This is a product which helps plants grow. It hasn't been made entirely clear how exactly this product works, but studies indicate that it helps reduce wrinkles by helping your skin retain moisture - hereby stimulating the production of collagen. This is a relatively new product. An old method, but one which has been proven to work, and which is used most often in wrinkle creams. There are not side-effects, or things to look out for, in using this product. Which ever product you choose, be careful not to apply too much of it. Give your skin time to repair itself, and try to stick to using one product at a time. Don't mix and mingle these active ingredients.
